I Apologize for my blog, I don't know how this works
Wow! Time went by so quickly, My closest cousin got married this past weekend May 24th 2008. We planned her theme a year ago, let's say we think alike when it comes to shabbyness. (special word huh?) She noticed how my passion/addiction worked well with her theme. At first we planned her colors---> Dusky Rose, Sage, Cream & Gold.
her theme---> Cavallini Birds & Nest
First I made her Save the Date cards, it was sent out 4 mos before the big day, she requested to have a very thick cardstock in cream, which I can't find here in Hawaii. So I doubled Stampin Up!'s Very Vanilla by using ATG and carefully placed it as close to all the edges. She loves flourishes so I got her a special one from Inkadinkadoo Bohemian style flourishes, embossed it in gold. I used cherish definition Lexicon of Love by Stampin Up!, inked with versamagic in cinnamon. Used ink spot Certainly Celery with my Cutterpede paper trimmer, I used it as a ruler then glide the ink spot pad all around to create a Sage looking border.
2nd project
Now that the Save the Dates are over, and we are getting close to her BIG DAY!! her invitations came in and it's all nicely letter pressed from the mainland, all we have to do is to make her Cavallini monogram birdie on the portfolio then its done.
3rd Project
Her favor boxes. Very Elegant Tiffany Heart silver bookmark. My problem is, I'm not gonna just make a pretty box on the outside, the inside counts too. It's all about the presentation. People told me not to be perfect, but that bothers me. I'm all about Quality, not hurry up and get the job done. And yes the past 2 months my bedtime turned to 3am so what, it was such a good feeling to see how great my creations turned out. Ok, With this special box, I used my Cricut Expression to make match boxes, about 41/4 inche. I love the match box because it slides, and sliding gives the bookmarks a great presentation. I used Pretty in Pink by SU! for the outter part of the match box, then the slider is Old Olive (SU!) , for the belly band I used Baroque Stampin Around Wheel, inked with gold encore pad. Used Marvy punches, scallop used Chocolate Chip ( SU ) , and Pretty in Pink. Cavallini Bird stamped with SU Close to Cocoa.
Inside the match box, I made a nest, and used a very pretty Mulberry paper in light pink and it has embossed swirls of stitches. I wrapped each bookmarks and tied a Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon around it. I made 100 pieces.
4th Project
Table Numbers. My favorite one. Bought twigs or stick looking branches they were white. I don't believe in spray painting them, so I hand painted them brown. My Cricut Expression helped me cut some 1 inches leaves, and glued them on the branches, used Old Olive. Bought a simple round cylinder glass votives and filled it with champagne pink bubble marbles. Cricuted all the way, I uses Accent Essentials for the label.
5th Project
Escort Cards. the fastest one but carving was a challenge. Ok, here's our escort card cased from Martha Stewart's quick and simple but you just have to get good practice using your hobby blade and have a good cutting mat. 4x31/2 bus card size. First I trimmed all the cardstocks, then stamped MS birds, scored but don't score the bird area. Feed one at a time to my printer and printed guest names and their designated table. Last carve around the top half of the stamped image. Done
6th Project
Card Holder. Very Yummy. She bought these gorgeous bird cages from JC Penny ( Mainland ) they're cream colored and some how distressed. 3 different sizes, Large, Med, Small. The Large one was her Card holder, I hand painted the trims with antique gold acrylic paint, dangled pink grosgrain ribbon with Swarovskis (rose & sage color) beaded on the bottom tip of the ribbon. Then placed Cavallini Bird monogram back to back on the lower part of the grosgrain ribbon. Just to add cherry on the top, I hand painted a feathered bird in gold, painted nest in choc chip acrylic paint and have the birdie lay on the nest looking out sitting by the window. Cricut helped me again Accent Essential Label... so delish. oh one hand painted birdie is hanging out outside the cage looking down.
Med Cage. painted trim with gold, I found this big looking eggs, I painted them pink and stamped brown speckles. Spray painted the nest in brown made big leaves with my Cricut again. Done
Small Cage. Painted trim with gold, I made a bird bath and have the bird tip down to look like it's drinking, there's tiny pink flowers and water. There's so much details in reality, pictures lie sometimes.
Her Big day arrived, on top of all this preparations She made me one of her Bridesmaids, my hubby is my partner ( groom's men) my oldest son (9yrs old) Coin Bearer, my baby who's 22 months old a Rosary Bearer. Well let's just say We're all part of the wedding party. I'm very proud that my dear hubby helped me alot with getting the kids ready, and driving around town. Waking up 4 in the morning to get our hair and make up done, and we took gorgeous pictures. And when it was time for the reception. Wow! eyes popping jaw dropping dead gorgeous tables with my birdie scenery going on. I was very proud.
